Family/Newborn Photos

This past week has been a wonderful time! Today marks one week since Randie went off her oxygen! She is doing spectacular and mom and dad are finally starting to not worry as much! We were able to take some newborn pictures along with some family pictures this past week!! It was nice to get to take some and we were able to get our Christmas cards done! Cannot believe Christmas is a week and a half away! Seems so crazy! We were suppose to go to a Christmas party Friday night but Mandy fell and slipped on the ice so they ended up spending a relaxing evening with Rick and Donna. Saturday Mandy's mom came up and helped around the house since she was still not getting around the best and Kyle wanted to go hunting. Katie, Branson and Grandma Janice all came up for lunch and hung out for a while! Branson is still not quite for sure what to think of Randie...so excited to see how reacts as Randie gets older and can be more interactive with him. Also cannot for July to see how react to their new baby! I think he is going to love the little girl or guy so much! Our friends Chad and Erin came up this past weekend. They have a little girl who will be 3, her name is Reese and boy did she love Randie! It was a fun evening hanging out with them. Sunday Rick and Kyle went hunting again and Mandy and Donna headed over in the afternoon so that Kyle's family could meet miss Randie. We were able to see Aunt Rita, Uncle Wayne, Jim and Marsha Mapes, as well as Grandpa Jim and Grandma Jenny. It was so much fun seeing everyone look at her and hold her. What a wonderful family we all have! Hoping to have a good week again with more visits to people!

This is the beautiful first Christmas ornament Deb Lesmeister gave to her! What a wonderful gift!!

Well Randie has been off oxygen for over 24 hours and she is doing MARVELOUS!! Man is she doing great! And pretty sure he likes it as well because she has been smiling like crazy today! Tomorrow is our 3rd anniversary and we are pretty excited to take a few newborn shots with her! We will also be taking family photos Thursday! Looking forward to the next few days!

GREAT NEWS!! THE OXYGEN IS GONE!!

Well today we got the call from the hospital! Randie passed her oxygen test! We have to watch her to make sure she still does well but the doctors have no doubt she won't do wonderful :) They are also still in contact with insurance about getting the RSV shot so hopefully we can get them for the next few months! We are so happy that she no longer has to have that stuff on her face and we are excited because now we plan on taking some newborn/family photos this week and maybe even get our Christmas cards out! Will take some pictures of her without the oxygen on her face in the next few days! So happy and excited for our little princess!!

Christmas Tree Hunting and Oxygen Test

It's been quite a week for us! Besides it being absolutely freezing out, we have not done much! We got the call on Monday that Apria needed to have a monitor shipped to them as they didn't have one that would alarm. They were hoping it would be in either Wednesday or Thursday. Finally Thursday we got the call! They came over and got it all set up for us! We were psyched. Even though we had some issues getting it on her little foot (we couldn't get it to read and since she doesn't hold very still it was even more difficult). We finally got it figured out and she did fairly well! They are mostly worried while she is sleeping and she statted so good while she slept...never dropping below 93%. However, her grunting when she had to poop and when she would rustle to wake up she would drop a little but she always came back up on her own which is huge because she never did that before! It is also kind of hard to judge because it is so sensitive so if she would kick her foot just right it would bounce around! We were hoping to hear from the doctor on Friday but she never called! Hoping that Monday she calls and gives us some news as to whether we can take the oxygen off or not!

Today (Saturday) we were going to go to Hemingford to see Santa...however the weather had a different idea. It has barely gotten above 0 degrees today so we decided it was best to just stay at home. We did not want her getting pneumonia again. Grandma Donna came over for a bit this afternoon so we could do some stuff in the nursery! Hoping we can get some pictures taken of it and get them posted so you can all see! We have been working on a fire truck puzzle which has proven to be much more difficult than what it looks!! But boy has it been fun...takes us back to when Mandy's dad was at home and they would go back and work on puzzles! It sure has been fun! So if anyone needs a puzzle put together...just let us know :)

December 2

It has been a while since we updated and we apologize. Who knew being at home and a newborn could keep you so busy! It has been absolutely wonderful being home! The first few nights home never felt so good! Many people have been over to visit and we have been able to even have a few outings with her! Big events were we had her one month appointment. She weighed in at 7 pounds 6 ounces (which means that she gained 6 ounces in 2 days) so they took her off of the 22 calories formula and we are back to the regular formula. They took her oxygen off of her during her appointment and she never dropped below 93% so we are going to be able to do the oxygen test this week (either Wednesday or Thursday) and they will have us put a monitor on her over night to see how her oxygen does and then it will be up to the doctor whether she can go off of it or not. We are hoping she does great and we can get rid of the oxygen...which would mean NO CORDS to work around!

Tuesday night we went over to see Rick and Donna before they headed east for Thanksgiving. Rick was able to hold her for the first time...pretty sure she loved some snuggle time with grandpa. We were so excited to be home for Thanksgiving but her being on oxygen and all the people who were going to be at Mandy's grandmas, we all decided to stay in Chadron and have a day for us. We ended up going to Turmans for lunch and later that afternoon Katie and Lori came up. This was the first time that Katie was able to hold her! Mandy did some black Friday shopping at Walmart that night and Kyle chose to stay home and have some father daughter time! Pretty sure he was the smarter of th two as Walmart was outrageous!

Friday we ran to Bomgaars in the morning to get a few things and then we spent the day relaxing (and catching up on some sleep). O ya, and watching the husker game...and we had more fun taking pictures of Randie all dressed up then watching the game! Saturday we spent the day traveling around visiting people Randie got to meet all of the Bauerkemper crew, Shelli Cope (got her a photo book ordered and a first Christmas ornament!) as well as Aunt Tori. Tori had been sick and was unable to see her so now that she was feeling better, we headed over there for an outing! She is one loved little girl! We also got a surprise visit from our friends the Rolands!! It was wonderful to see them all and it is even more special as Randie and Loretta share a birthday!! Saturday also marked the day that Randie turned one month old! Cannot belive she is already a month old! Man how time has flown!

Sunday we went Christmas tree hunting! It was Randie's first trip down a county road...and poor thing about bounced out of the car. It was a little rough riding but we found the perfect tree and we were even able to take some family pictures! We went and ate at Mandy's grandmas for lunch and then helped her grandpa put a fan up that afternoon. Our good friends the Phillips stopped in and dropped off a few gifts. Carolyn had made Randie two hats and a three wheeler diaper cake! It was adorable!

Monday she was able to meet the court house crew and boy were they excited to see her. We spent 2 1/2 hours up there and she did great! We will be back to see them all as we have a few parties coming up! Mandy heads back to work after the new year...as much as she loves being at home, there is only so much she can organize!

Enjoying some tummy time!

Dressed up for Thanksgiving!
