November 11
Today was another great day! Randie did so good! First thing that was new was that they had removed her IV. This was one less cord that we had to work around! We arrived this morning and the nurse on duty told us that they had bottle fed her since she started her shift at 3 a.m. They said that her respirations had been down in the 50s and so they decided to try it! She did AMAZING! Mandy fed her at her 10 a.m. feeding and then Kyle fed her tonight at the 7 p.m. She did really well both times (minus her falling asleep while Mandy was feeding her and having to get her down to her diaper to get her to wake back up...that blanket must have been pretty warm and cozy!). Her respirations tonight at 7 p.m. were in the 40s. Needless to say, today was a great day!! She is still on the oxygen but they had talked about trying to wean it down tonight! They wanted to leave it while they were testing out bottle feeding just in case! We have pictures and we will hopefully get them uploaded tomorrow! Tomorrow we are hoping to run errands and get haircuts so we can get stuff in line just in case we get the word that we can head to step down (which is where we go back into the hospital for a few days with her and she is completely in our care! It is something that most parents do right after they have the baby as they keep them in the room with them, not send them to the NICU!). Thanks again for all the love, prayers, and support! We are truly blessed!!
